An eight-module course in two formats

Global Governance and Treaty Alignment

Securing Africa's Strategic Influence in ICAO Frameworks

Global Governance and Treaty Alignment: Securing Africa's Strategic Influence in ICAO Frameworks is an eight-module course for the people who represent, regulate and negotiate for African states in international civil aviation. It shows how the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the wider governance system make and apply rules, what the aviation treaties require of a state and how to align national law and institutions with them, and how African states can build, negotiate and defend common positions so that they shape global aviation rules instead of only adopting them. Every module opens with a real, dated case, turns it into a practical tool and adds one step to a threaded capstone, the Common Position Paper, which participants argue in a mock ICAO Assembly. The course runs as a 5-day programme or as a 2-day short course, and any institution can deliver it.

Course materials are for enrolled students and lecturers. You will need the enrolment code your lecturer gives you.
